No one is going to achieve success without taking action. I have found some action success tips from The Magic of Thinking Big by David J Schwartz, Ph.D.

Get a clear fix on where you want to go. Create an image of yourself 10 years from now.

Write out your 10 year plan. Your life is too important to be left to chance. Put down on paper what you want to accomplish in your work, your home and your social departments.

Surrender yourself to your desires. Set goals to get more energy. Set goals to get things done. Set goals and discover the real enjoyment of living.

Let your major goal be your automatic pilot. When you let your goal absorb you, you’ll find yourself making the right decisions to reach your goal.

Achieve your goal one step at a time. Regard each task you perform, regardless of how small it may seem, as a step toward your goal.

Build 30 day goals. Day-by day effort pays off.

Take detours in stride. A detour simply means another route. It should never mean surrendering the goal.

Invest in yourself. Purchase those things that build mental power and efficiency. Invest in education. Invest in idea starters.

Without action no goal can be achieved and without goals we wander aimlessly through life following every whim. This maybe okay for a while, in my younger days it was how I lived, but it does not maintain you through life. We are all after success in some area of our lives, to achieve success you must have a goal and follow through with action.

What are your goals in your relationships, your career, your health and personal growth? What actions are you taking to achieve them?

Use the guide above to get you started and to keep you moving on track to your goals.

Have a fulfilling day

Believe you can succeed. Believing in yourself generates the power, skill and energy you need to take the action you need to succeed.

Believing you can do it will give you the energy to find how to do it.

Respect and learn from those that have succeeded before you but believe you can achieve and succeed even more.

A person is a product of his thoughts, adjust your themostat for forward motion. Believe big and grow big.

Your thoughts can take you forward or hold you back depending on the words you give power to. Allow negative words like can’t or impossible in and they will gain strength. Take charge only permit words like can and possible and they too will gain strength.

Believe in yourself, believe you can succeed.

Plan for self development and growth. We are never finished making improvements in this life. Plan in the areas you wish to improve and act conscientiously and with commitment.

Be grateful for all you have. Count the blessings in your life, recall your victories and always look for the good.

Realise everyone is important and make others feel that way, you are also important so be good to you.

Always give more than is expected of you.

Encourage others to talk and concentrate on what is being said.

Surround yourself with people who are positive and willing to support and encourage you in your plans for success.

Manage and upgrade your thinking. Upgrading your thinking upgrades your actions and this produces success.

These are a few tips from The Magic of Thinking Big by David J Schwartz Ph.D.

Every one of us is on a road to somewhere. Most of us are confident that somewhere will be an improvement to where we are now because we are taking steps to get there. Some of us however are frozen or held back by fear and the only cure for fear is action.

That’s easy for me to say, right?

I hear you, I know it is easy to say. I also know overcoming fear can be a difficult, frustrating and drawn out process. I am no stranger to fear, though deep down I know I’m capable of anything something (fear) holds me back in a number of situations. Attempting to identify your fear trigger points can start you on the journey to overcoming your fears.

You want success don’t you? Yes, of course you do. Well then let’s take a look at some fear inducing circumstances and some action steps for resolving them.

Appearance – Feeling embarrassed or self conscious because of your appearance can be enough to hold people back by not speaking up, keeping to yourself or as a contributing factor to shyness. Action Step: Look at ways you can improve how you feel about yourself for example begin an exercise program, even walking can lift your spirits, go to the hairdresser, a new hairstyle can make a big difference, give yourself a facial, any improvement you can make to your grooming is bound to make you feel better. Also remember a lot of our negative feelings, about our appearance, we have created so try some positive thoughts about yourself.

Fear of what you can’t control – Control over ourselves our action and behaviour is really the only kind of control we should be concerned with. Action Step: I taught the following prayer to my son when he was young as he often worried about many things and was prone to whinging and stressed behaviour, now he is any adult and a very calm and peaceful young man.

God give me the Serenity to accept the things I cannot change, Courage to change the things I can and the Wisdom to know the difference.

Try it, it can’t hurt.

Fear of what others may say or think – People do talk, but it is true they usually find more time to talk about themselves. Those that talk about others in a negative way are usually doing so to make themselves feel better. Action Step: Make sure you are doing what is right. Great achievers have been critisised the world over, thankfully they didn’t let that stop them. If you have goals you want to achieve find out what you need to do to achieve them, make a plan, and follow it.

Fear of failure – This could be one of the biggest. We really don’t know what we can do without first trying. We may not win the race, we may not become a millionaire, we may not achieve everything we want in life. As long as we ran the race, or made some money, or achieved some of what we wanted, as long as we gave our best we have not failed. Solution Step: Use your fear to drive you, you have not failed as long as you are still working on it. People are capable of overcoming the most enormous obstacles, if it’s what you want, if it will benefit others, if you have considered it carefully then don’t give up.

Having a positive mindset is the first step in living a positive life. This is not a new concept but like most things worthwhile we have to make a conscious effort to stay positive in our everyday experiences. Imagination goes hand in hand with your positive attitude in creating the life you desire.

Imagination can be used as a technique to see in your mind exactly how you want your life to be. Like a garden you must fill your mind and feed your imagination with the seeds you want to grow or the weeds will find there way in and take over. Using your imagination to change your financial situation is no different to elite atheletes seeing their race or game in their mind before taking part. Just like an athelete or a beautiful garden you must prepare or train for a better financial condition all the while using your imagination to see the outcome exactly the way you want it.

Be as clear as possible in your mind, find somewhere quiet, picture the colours, the people, your bank balance. Whatever you desire give it as much life as possible. This may take some practice for some but the more you engage in this excercise the more clearer your desired life will become.

Affirmations will support your imagination so find some that feel good and use them as well. The more positive you are and the more conscious effort you make to creating the life you desire the faster it will all come to you. Support yourself through this process of change allow yourself to feel good and worthy of all you desire. Remember to be grateful for what you have now and for the people in your life. A healthy balance must be maintained or all the wealth in the world will mean little if you lose the love and respect of those around you.

Some suggested affirmations.

I deserve to succeed. I am a success.

I am a motivated and energetic person.

My life is filled with harmony and happiness.

I am a positive and successful achiever.

I feel good about my life. I can do it.

I am at peace with my world.

Every day I achieve more and more.

Success is mine. I think BIG.

I am a happy person. I enjoy life, it is good to me.

Each day I do what needs to be done.

I have the inner strength and confidence I need to succeed.

Doing what it takes to be successful can be a challenge, stepping out of the mediocre line, becoming above average isn’t always comfortable but it is an answer to many problems.

It is human nature to grow, to expand, to progress if you are not challenging yourself there’s a good chance you are not feeling completely happy with your life.

Life is for growing, achieving and building upon the talents and abilities we possess. Our challenge is to constantly and consisitently strive to reach our full potential. We all have more that we can give, the extra sit up, run just 5 more minutes, read one more page. Whatever it is we can push past our inner barriers and get closer to our goals.

What are the qualities needed for success?

They are whatever qualities you possess utilised to the fullest extent possible at any given time. So don’t sit back and wait for something to happen get up, go out and go find the answer to achieving your dreams and goals. There is no perfect moment to get started, but there will always be reasons and excuses to wait for a better time and so waiting becomes a habit. Make a start, a small one is better than none at all, and then just keep going.

Once you decide to take action guard yourself against the critics and even your own harsh judgement. You will make mistakes but mistakes are fine as long as you adjust yourself and keep going. You have an obligation, and you deserve, to live a successful life, to strive for happiness and abundance.

Creating wealth in your life honestly then using your wealth wisely is something you can be proud of. So what are you waiting for? Give yourself permission, for it is only yourself that holds you back.

Have an Amazing Day

D.J.Schwartz, author of The Magic of Thinking Big, in his book Maximise your Mental Power, describes a study he did way back in the early 1960’s, on five of his college friends who all started life under very similar conditions. Fifteen years after college they all got together again at a reunion and Schwartz examined closely if their circumstances were still as similar. Did they all achieve as they said they would? Where were they all fifteen years later?

What Schwartz found was that only one of the five had actually accomplished what they all had set out to achieve. The study confirmed that four of the group had fallen victim to seven common psychological sins that caused them to stay stuck in a cycle of mediocre achievements, boredom and frustration. The other one had however achieved success by avoiding these seven psychological traps.

If you recognise any of the seven psychological sins in yourself then you have taken the first step to changing your circumstances.

Letting other people control what you do with your life – When you make a decision is it based on your own thoughts and feelings or do you base it on what other people will think.

Blaming others when things aren’t the way you want – Making excuses for why things aren’t the way you want them is not something successful people do. You must take responsibility for the role you play in creating the cicumstances around you.

Not having belief in your own abilities and potential (lacking confidence) – If you think you can’t then you usually deliver, if you believe you can and take the necessary steps then of course you can. Blind men have danced, deaf people have sung and a man without legs climbed one of the highest mountains in the world. If you want it, believe it and you will figure out a way to achieve it.

Not acting because of fear – We are all afraid of something but you can’t let it stop you, it can be overcome. If you are not as successful as you would like to be it may be because of fear. Examine your thoughts and feelings. What are you afraid of? Are your fears rational?

Not setting any clear goals - Do you know what you want? Do you have a plan to achieve it? You can’t just wish for the things you want or the way you want your life to be you must make a plan, commit to it and take action.

Not asking what the other person wants or needs – Being successful involves finding out what other people’s needs are and finding a way to meet those needs. If you help enough people get what they want you will aslo get what you want.

Failure to believe you can succeed – This is really believing in your ability to control the thoughts that occupy your mind. You will need to be diligent here negative thoughts come easily, constantly replacing those thoughts with positive ones is necessary to stay motivated. You must support yourself in your quest for success, help yourself as much as you can. Focus on positive and uplifting thoughts, surround yourself with people you can aspire to even if that is in the form of books or dvd’s.

Life is short, time is the one commodity we can’t replace or get back, making the most of yours doesn’t happen by chance. Growing as a person means accepting responsibility for your life and where you are in it there are many successful positive people who can provide you with inspiration, tools and knowledge. David Schwartz and Napolean Hill from generations ago and today people like Anthony Robbins and Australian self-made millionaire Jamie McIntyre are leading the way. So if you are having trouble on your road to success you may be falling into one or more of the traps mentioned above, the positive thing to do is take that information and use it to turn things around. Learn from those who have succeeded and continue to succeed on their journey, you too can have an awesome ride.

Power Thought

I am in charge of my thoughts

Remember and tell yourself this often

Cheers

If you want to succeed in life, as most of us do, have a look at these tips I’ve picked up from Napolean Hill’s, Think and Grow Rich (pp 120 – 126). There are thirty one reason’s, according to Hill, why people don’t succeed here are some of them.

Have a Well-Defined Life Purpose ~ Without a definite goal or reason to be motivated it is unlikely that what is required to achieve success will be done.

Be Self-Disciplined ~ Self control must be mastered. Negative thoughts must be conquered. This may be the hardest task you will have to do but if you are not in control of yourself you leave room for excuses, procrastination and inactivity to creep in.

Good Health ~ If you have poor health it will be difficult to focus on success, do all you can to lead a healthy life. Eat well, exercise regularly, maintain a positive outlook, breathe deeply and develop healthy peaceful relationships.

Be Persistent ~ Seeing a task through to the end can be a challenge that many don’t see through. Persistence will defeat failure, don’t give up before you reach your goal. You may have to reassess the path you are taking but don’t give up on the goal.

Be Willing to Take Some Risks ~ All forms of investment involve some risk but if you never take risk you will never achieve anything. Do not be careless in your judgments, get as many facts as you can and then make your decision.

Many people have claimed that reading Think and Grow Rich several times over has made a huge difference in their ability to create wealth. If you haven’t read it then now’s a good time and if you have it’ a good time to read it again. One thing I have learnt is that you must stay on top when it comes to giving yourself a daily dose of your ability to succeed.

Power Thought

I complete all the necessary tasks.

Repeat this to yourself often
